Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of the African Women in Space (AWIS) website and to the services offered through it, including Women in Space Kenya (WiSK) premium membership, event registration and ticketing, sponsor, exhibitor and partner applications, and our support and contact channels. By using the website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

• Use the website lawfully and respectfully, and only for its intended purpose.
• Provide information that is accurate and complete, and keep it up to date.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, probe or gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems, or to interfere with other users.
• Do not use automated tools to submit forms, scrape personal information or overload the website.

WiSK premium membership runs for one year from the date your payment is confirmed. A membership number is issued on successful payment, or when the AWIS team adds you as a member, and identifies you in WiSK records. Membership is personal to you and may not be transferred. Benefits, tiers and prices are published on the membership page and may change over time; a change does not affect the benefits of a membership year that has already been paid for.

Registering for an event, or buying a ticket, is subject to availability and to the event details published on its page. A paid ticket is confirmed only once payment has been successfully verified. Each ticket can be scanned for entry once and is for the named attendee. We may need to change an event's date, venue, format or programme; where we do, we will communicate the change to registered attendees.

Payments for memberships and tickets are processed securely by a third-party payment provider, which supports cards and mobile money. We do not store your card details. Prices are shown in Kenyan shillings (KES). If a payment problem occurs, or you believe you have been charged in error, contact us with your payment reference so we can look into it.

Submitting a sponsor, exhibitor, partner or speaker application, or a contact or support message, does not create a binding agreement. Any sponsorship, exhibition or partnership arrangement is formed only once it is confirmed in writing by AWIS.

The AWIS and WiSK names, logos, website design, text, photographs and other content belong to AWIS or its partners and are protected by law. You may share links to our pages and quote our content with attribution, but you may not copy, modify or reuse our branding or content for commercial purposes without written permission.

The website may link to sites run by partners, sponsors and other third parties. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.

We work to keep the website accurate and available, but it is provided “as is”, and we cannot guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, AWIS is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the website. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under applicable consumer or data protection law, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

How we collect and use your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

We may update these terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date above shows when they last changed, and continued use of the website means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
